FILMMAKER

I am an award-winning documentary producer and director.

The topics of war and its consequences on civilians have always been at the heart of my work. My desire to shed a light on forgotten conflicts and the human cost of geopolitical decisions continues to inform my projects. I’m committed to elevate the voices of people affected by conflict and humanitarian crisis to create lasting change.

No topic is too difficult, and no terrain is off-limits in my pursuit to tell these crucial stories.

MORE THAN BROTHERS

Movie poster for 'More Than Brothers' featuring four portraits of men with one face obscured by black paint. Title text in the center reads 'More Than Brothers,' with credits to director Andrea Von Siebenthal. Various film festival laurels and awards are displayed at the bottom.

This short documentary is a deeply mournful film that highlights the human cost of political decisions.

Since the precipitous retreat of the U.S. forces from Afghanistan in 2021 and the subsequent power takeover by the Taliban, the Afghans who helped the Allies are being hunted down and killed.

“More Than Brothers” portrays the personal sacrifices and political engagement of two Green Berets in a race against time to save the Afghans who kept them safe during their deployments, giving a voice to their Afghan allies whose lives have been completely uprooted since the chaotic withdrawal.

MORE THAN BROTHERS has been selected by 20+ prestigious film festivals such as DOC NYC, Big Sky and Hot Springs. It has won several awards, amongst others Best Social Impact Short at the Lighthouse International Film Festival 2024.

WRITER

In my first novel, written together with my father Gottfried von Siebenthal, we narrate the history of our family and of our village, Gstaad.

“Madame Gstaad" is a historic novel that tells the true life story of Emilie Steffen-von Siebenthal. It is a tale of courage and desperation, of love and death, of poverty and a pioneering spirit, capturing the spirit of the turn of the last century.

Through Emilie's eyes, the reader experiences the devastating village fire of 1898 and the tragic events surrounding it, immersing himself in a bygone era where women had to fight for their place in society.

The novel is available in German (original) and English.
